After our fun Christmas Vegas vacation we got to go to Orlando for another quick trip. It wasn't the best week to go to Florida, I guess it was the coldest it's been in over 100 years, but it was still a great experience. Ben had a conference and training at the hotel we stayed at. If you are interested, it was for wind tunnel training. Ask him if you want more info, all I know is that these tunnels get to some Mach speeds and I don't get it all so he is better to talk to. He was busy most the time with work but we did get some fun days in.

The hotel we stayed in was ginormous. I guess it's Marriott's largest hotel.

It's called the Marriott World Center and it is right next to all the Disney parks. Our view was awesome from our room. We could see Epcot, Downtown Disney, Disney's Animal Kingdom, just to name a few. Every night we got to see fireworks from these parks too. It was so cool.

Our first fun day we went to Disney's Magic Kingdom. It's pretty much exactly like Disneyland in California minus the Indiana Jone's ride. If we would have known this we would have gone to one of the other Disney parks instead, but we still had so much fun. With the weather being super cold this week there weren't as many people at the park. The longest we had to wait to go on a ride was probably 15 minutes. Can you believe that? Well, we did use the quick passes as much as we could so that kind of helped, but still. Have you ever heard of that? When we got to the park at the opening hour we walked right up to the gate and were first on the ferry to get over to Magic Kingdom. (yes, we rode a ferry to the park to get the more magical experience :) ) Here are some of our fun Disney pictures:

Aladdin! He had me point my toe like a princess and later on commented to another couple about a nice camel-toe... I swear that's what he said. Ben doesn't think so but I do.

This was just sooo pretty. Something I will not forget.

So Ben was back to work the rest of the week except for Sunday, we left Monday. I did go to the library before we left and checked out The Host by Stephanie Meyer. I didn't read it all while we were there but most of it. It was a pretty good book. So while I was looking for a little picture to put on here I just learned that they are making it into a movie. Who's going with me to see it?

Sunday came around and we decided to just take a drive to Cocoa Beach and to take a little stroll over by NASA. didn't get to visit the space museum because we were a little late but we still could see the space shuttle from a distance. (How awesome would it be to be at Cocoa Beach when it got launched?) Cocoa Beach was way to cold to get into the water, or to even take off our sweaters. I don't think we would have wanted to swim in this water anyways. As we were walking along the shore we had to watch where we stepped because there were dead fish everywhere, yuck! It was still fun to see. I just love the beach!

That's our trip to Florida! We had tons of fun and can't wait for our next vacation. We are planning maybe a quick trip to Lake Tahoe to visit Ben's brother Joe and a camping trip up in Wyoming with my family. Can't wait!

Holidays in Vegas

ok... so I am really, really bad at this. At least I get on here sometimes to update though right?

We got to go down to Las Vegas for Christmas and New Years. We had so much fun seeing our family and friends. It's a rarity for all of the Forbush's to be together and this past Christmas was one of those times. We had a BLAST! It's so hard living so far away from these cute little nieces and nephews. They are grwing up so fast. At least we have little Andersen near by now.

So I am really messy with all of this but here are some of my favorite pictures taken while partying it up with both families.

So I was able to take some pictures for my sister-in-law Mallory. These were for her engagement pictures. We went to Wheeler Farm (one of my favorite places to take pictures) and as you can tell it was a little while ago...no snow, short sleeves. They just got married last weekend down in Vegas. Congrats Mallory and Jeff!!! These are some of my favorite pictures of the bunch.... p.s. I know... I am a horrible blogger. I think I just don't like how long it takes to upload pictures. So this will be a no picture post. I'll post more pictures later. Ben and I got a new Canon Rebel for Christmas. Whenever we go out we have it with us. So get used to seeing tons of pictures... just not in this post :)

So this is what we have been up to...

Carolyn:

~Going to Salt Lake Community College to get into their Radiology Tech program. I don't know what I want to specialize in yet but I have time to figure that out.

~Got called to be the Stake assistant woman's sports director. Such an awesome calling. Oh... this means that Ben and I are finally not in nursery anymore. It's weird going to normal classes at church now. It's still fun seeing the kids we taught. Some of them even run up to us in church to give us hugs. I LOVE it!

~Playing on an awesome rec volleyball team. Tonight is actually our last night for now. Hopefully we do well and get 1st place! I want a new t-shirt :)

~Work out with Bailey at least 3 times a week. We are, for once, keeping it up and not finding other things to get in the way.

Ben:

~Still working at ATK.

~Got a new calling in our war. He teaches in Elder's Quorum once to twice a month.

~Got an awesome new computer monitor so plays his computer games without having to squint now.

~We have both been working in the yard as much as possible. We still have so much to do but it is actually showing a little now.

~Works on fixing our grill. Got the main part done so we can cook with it with propane, now he is just working on converting it to our natural gas connection.

Nothing else comes to mind right now. No big news for all those that are wondering. We get bugged enough about it so don't you bug us too. ;)

Andrus Reunion

We went down to Brian Head for the Andrus reunion. We went horseback riding, fishing and we rode the lift up to the top to explore. It was so much fun! Except for the fact that I had the worst allergies ever! Ben had really bad allergies the next day too! We wont be moving down there anytime soon. ;)

We went fishing up in the Uintas. It was beautiful. Weather was perfect and the water was so clear. I only caught one fish, Ben didn't catch any, but it was still fun.

We had ton's of fun with the Leavitt's in Newport! We gained lots of weight with all of the amazing food, had fun playing Guitar Hero, and we got to see Mari!!!

Let me just start off by saying I have the best husband ever!

I went to lunch with my Grandma Welch to her favorite restaurant called Geckos. I was really satisfied with the food. Perfect portions and it didn't cost that much. I also got a free sundae for my birthday. That was just the start of junk food. haha
After hanging out at my grandma's for a little bit I went home surprised to find Ben there with a cake, well not just any cake, it was my favorite Texas Fudge cake. It's pretty much loaded with sugar, butter, and chocolate. mmmm. He also had a dozen circus roses (my favorite kind of roses), balloons and my new favorite movie Enchanted! YAY! Love you babe!

We decided to go to a movie so we went and saw You Don't Mess with the Zohan. I was pretty disappointed with this movie. It had some funny parts in it but the rest of the movie was pretty much let's see how many women we can get Adam Sandler to have sex with and let's see how many times we can show his butt. Not impressed at all.

So to make up for it we decided to sneak into another movie. Kung Fu Panda was just starting. I like to think we paid to go to this one though since we bought $10 worth of food. That should count right? haha. Anyways, we love this movie! We were laughing through most of it. It was fun listening to all the little kids laughing through it all too. Go see this movie. If you don't like it then there must be something wrong with you.

To top the night off we went to Cafe Rio. They kept screwing up Ben's meal. I left some pretty nasty comments on there survey and asked to be contacted. We'll see if they contact me and how that goes.

All in all it was a pretty good birthday. Ben is such an amazing husband and I am soo lucky to have him! He' s all mine for ETERNITY! muhaha. lol

Scary House

OK... Bailey and I went and looked at houses last Thursday in Herriman. We were looking in the 300k-350k price range. We went through some really nice ones then there was the "murder scene" house... something happened, was happening, in this house that just scared us to death! It was a vacant house and it looked like somebody had broken in through the garage. The garage door from the outside had been busted and the door going into the house from the garage had obviously been kicked in. When we saw that, we put our keys between our fingers as a weapon just in case someone was still in the house. We went down into the basement and there were holes in the walls, some random piece of furniture and a big red stain on the floor. FREAKY!!!! We got out of there and went upstairs where all of the bedrooms were. In the master bedroom was a mattress... just a mattress, more holes in the wall, and the master shower was disgusting... I have seen some pretty nasty showers in my college days... this one tops them all. We got out of that house freaked out! It's just sad because this house was absolutely beautiful, in a desirable neighborhood and had a lot of upgrades.

On our way back to my grandma's after looking at the houses we saw Brad, other cousin, flying a plane with a Bee's Banner behind. It was awesome! We took a picture but you can barely see it. Just click on it to enlarge.

Ben's Business Trip

So I am stuck at home alone for the next couple of days. Ben left to Denver on a business trip. He is actually pretty excited for this because he is going to Lockheed Martin. Ben worked for Lockheed Martin the summer we got married so he gets to hang out with his friends he worked with while he is there. Have fun in Denver Ben cause I am going to be hitting up my grandma's house to play cards pretty much every night! He is totally missing out!

Something else on the agenda while Ben is gone is to go look at some homes for sale. Ever since I have become a Realtor my trainer has told me to do this. This helps me when talking to other agents and getting to know what is available for my future buyers. I don't like doing this alone so I take my cousin Bailey with me. We have a blast! It's a really good way to get decorating ideas for the house. It's just too bad I still have not done anything for ours yet. Rebecca needs to get her butt up here and do it all for me while I watch Porter and Brooke. I like that plan!

Well... I'm off to my grandma's!

Easter

Ben and I just celebrated Easter with his sister Amy and her husband Brig. It was tons of fun. I made my first ham with the most amazing glaze! I'll have to post that recipe at the end of this. We had it at Christmas time in Las Vegas with the Mom and Dad Leavitt and couldn't get enough of it. So if you get a chance you need to try it. We also dyed some Easter eggs. Brig taught us a cool new trick where you wrap a rubber band around the egg to get a nice white line. here is a pic of our eggs. Sorry I don't have any pictures of Amy's award winning egg or Brig's crazy man egg.

Here is that amazing Ham Glaze recipe

1/2 Cup Dr. Pepper
3/4 Cup light brown sugar
2 Tablespoons Orange Juice
2 Tablespoons Dijon Mustard

Mix this up in a sauce pan and boil for 10 minutes. Glaze ham and bake. Use extra for the table.
We bought a spiral sliced ham so we put the glaze on all the slices before baking it.

I'm new to this so we'll see how this all goes...

Where to start... I guess I can tell you what's going on with us first.

Ben is working for ATK in Magna which is just 7 1/2 minutes north of our new house. We bought our first home in West Jordan. It is a cute rambler with an unfinished basement. We love our neighborhood so far and can't wait to meet more people here. We also love our ward. We got called in as the Nursery Leaders and are having fun times doing that.

I just started doing Real Estate and I have my first listing on the market right now. If you know anyone that wants to buy this cute condo in Taylorsville let me know!

Also if you know anyone wanting to buy, sell or invest here in Utah send them to me!

We also just got a bird. His name is Petey and he can be so much fun. We love to here him talking and trying to imitate us.
